Foundational Experience

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is one of the most influential technology gatherings in the world, bringing together developers, journalists, and industry leaders for the company’s most significant annual announcements.
Following a day defined by major product reveals and highly produced keynote presentations, the opportunity was to design an evening experience that allowed the community surrounding WWDC to celebrate together in a more relaxed and social environment.
The goal was to create a night time gathering that matched the cultural weight of the conference while offering a refreshing contrast to its highly digital day-time content.

Inside WWDC, attendees experienced one of the most technologically advanced presentation environments ever created, anchored by massive ultra–high-resolution displays and cutting-edge demonstrations.
Rather than extend that digital spectacle into the evening, the creative strategy was to move in the opposite direction. The after-party would celebrate the human side of innovation — music, play, and shared experiences that bring people together through a day glow technicolor analog landscape.
The WWDC After Party transformed the venue into a colorful nighttime playground where developers, journalists, and creative leaders could gather following the day’s announcements.
Guests moved through a vibrant landscape of curated food experiences and playful interactive installations, including illuminated versions of classic analog games such as ping pong and foosball. Rendered in glowing day-glo colors, these familiar games created a technicolor environment that encouraged conversation, exploration, and spontaneous interaction.
At the center of the evening was a live concert by Panic! at the Disco, transforming the gathering into a festival scale headlining performance. As the show began, the environment shifted from relaxed social space to an energized private outdoor concert, bringing thousands of attendees together in a shared moment of music and celebration.
The result was a playful, analog landscape that ultimately built toward a high-energy live performance worthy of one of the most important nights in the technology calendar.

As Head of Creative at Superfly, EMÁJYN’s founder established the guiding concept for the experience and oversaw its creative execution, ensuring the event delivered a clear and intentional contrast to the conference itself.
By framing the evening around human interaction, music, and analog play - culminating in a major live performance - the after-party created a memorable counterpoint to the highly technical focus of WWDC.
The WWDC After Party demonstrated that even the most technology-driven gatherings ultimately revolve around people.
After a day centered on code, products, and innovation, the most powerful way to celebrate progress was through music, connection, and shared cultural moments.
That instinct, balancing technological spectacle with moments of genuine human connection, continues to guide EMÁJYN’s approach to experience design today.
